The Mesa is a shoe and a sandal all in one. Vans surf series shoes and sandals are killing it this year. The Mesa is the best of both world. It is very light weight and can be worn with or without socks. If it gets wet it will be ok. This shoe is perfect for warm sunny days at the beach when you want a little more than a sandal.
